Become a fan and stay up to date with the College Republicans at UC Merced.
The College Republicans at UC Merced was founded in 2008 by a handful of conservative students and was the first political group to form on campus. Throughout the years, we have actively campaigned for local and national Republican candidates and held numerous events on campus. Such events include the: Liberal March Madness, No more Che, celebrating Freedom week with a reenactment of the fall of the Berlin wall, 9/11 Never Forget, on campus rallies for Republican candidates, and hosting prominent conservative speakers, such as Karl Rove. The College Republicans at UC Merced also organized and held the only Tax Day Tea Party in Merced. The event was held on campus and attracted both students and community members, becoming the largest club-sponsored event ever held at UC Merced. The College Republicans at UC Merced also publish a monthly newspaper, entitled The Right Side. The objective of the paper and the club is to spread conservative ideals and inform the student population of current events.
